Having first use of Nester's latest road most of the batsman did what they've been doing; got into double figures and then got out! With over half the team back in The Pav with just 106 on the board, it looked like being an early tea as only 22 overs had been bowled! But Jordan Jackson & Skipper Matt Lowe showed just how easy it was by batting properly putting on 72 with few alarms for the seventh wicket. It was a shame that JJ fell nine short of a deserved half century and when the skipper fell for 34, Calvo were all out for 191 in the final over of the innings. Something to bowl at, but well below a par score.
The bowling effort couldn't really be faulted as Michael Nester & Jake Lowe removed both openers cheaply. But Whatton's number 3, Dan Wilson, remained unmoved. Two wickets a piece for James Cairney & Jordan Jackson kept Calvo in the game but it wasn't to be. Wilson ended on 89* and the target was reached with 6 overs left.
Batting practice required (again)!
MOM Jordan Jackson 41 & 2 wickets.
