Kimberley won the toss and elected to bat first on a very green pitch, maybe they knew something that we didn't? the innings went along at a steady pace throughout as we tried to defend a very short boundary to one side. Billy Armstrong 4-60 and Brinsley 3-61 toiled manfully as Kimberley posted 235-9 from their 48 overs.
The Calverton reply moved along at a brisk pace but with wickets falling at regular intervals. Captain Daz held the innings together with a conservative 106 but with 60 required from the last 7 overs and 7 wickets down all looked lost but enter Brinsley Kirkham. The bearded one smashed 41no from 19 deliveries which included 4 sixes, ably supported by Kyle Welch 38no to see us home with 10 balls to spare.
