Work on the pavilion to alter and install the female changing and showering facility is well underway and should be completed in time for the new season. The end shutter has been removed and bricked up, the internal wall & doorway removed all ready for the plumbing and electrical work to commence.
When completed, the ladies will have their own exclusive are to change and shower. All this has been made possible thanks to the grant from the Coalfield Regeneration Trust for which the Club are very grateful.
The fixtures for the 2015 season for the Junior matches have been received and are viewable via the fixtures link at the top of the page.
The Under 15's will begin their campaign in a 10 team league at home to Farnsfield on the 5th May. Meanwhile the newly formed Under 11's hard ball team will play in a 9 team league starting on the 6th May with a home game against Welbeck.
Good luck to both teams for the season.
The Cricket Club are delighted to announce that they have secured a grant of £5,000 from The Coalfield Regeneration Trust to assist in the completion of the pavilion alterations.
Last winter saw a lot of work at the ground courtesy of the Olympic Legacy and Sport Relief Grants with the tea room/bar extension, new garage and electronic scoreboard. Further alterations to the 'other end' of the Pavilion will see the ladies toilet area being upgraded to incorporate a shower and changing area exclusively for females, all in time for the new season.
Chairman, Derek Pickering said, "This is great news and we are very grateful for the CRT grant. We are now able to complete the upgrade to the Pavilion in readiness for the 2015 season. No longer will females playing in mens cricket have to turn up at the ground changed and have nowhere to 'freshen up' afterwards"
Information regarding the work of the Coalfield Regeneration Trust can be found here

The Pickering Clan were out in force at last nights Nottinghamshire Sports Awards Ceremony.
Dick Pickering was honoured for his unstinting service to Calverton Cricket Club over the last 70 years by being inducted onto The Roll of Honour for services to sport in Nottinghamshire. Accompanied by his wife Eileen and Son Derek, it was a very proud moment for Dick to pick up another 'gong' to go with the award he received a few weeks ago from the Gedling Sports Forum.
Just because you've been presented with these awards doesn't mean you're allowed to slow down though Dick!
Keep up the good work, well done, well done!
