With Hoveringham now having pulled out of the league, there will now be just 9 teams (16 fixtures) in Division 2. Mainly due to this, attempts are being made to 'tweak' one or two fixtures so we can play in the summer rather than mid April! Watch this space.
A second draft of fixtures have now been received!

New season - New Captain!
It's a welcome return to Calverton for Ryan Evans and with it the Captaincy of the 1st XI. Congratulations Ryan and good luck for the 2017 season. Graham Waghorn continues in Post as the 2nd XI Captain and Kyle Welch will be the Sunday Captain. On the Committee front, Scott Andrew, Amanda Walker and Lorraine Andrew were all elected to stand. All the Saturday fixtures for the forthcoming season for both the 1st XI and the 2nd XI have been uploaded onto the play cricket site.
The 1st XI will be playing in Division B and the 2nd XI in Division H of the South Notts Cricket League. Thankfully the fixtures are far more 'user friendly' than last year, with both teams starting the season on Saturday 6th May and finishing on Saturday 2nd September. There are no 'blank' Saturdays and no Bank Holiday games. The 2nd XI kick off the season at home to Bottesford, whilst the 1st XI make the short trip to Hoveringham. Please make every effort to attend - IT'S YOUR CLUB! The Sunday fixtures for the forthcoming season have been received but have yet to be ratified.
In all probability, there won't be any changes to the fixtures we have, but to be on the safe side they won't be uploaded to play cricket until ratified. Assuming there aren't any changes, the first three games will all be at GLA in April on the 16th, 23rd and 30th against Gedling Colliery, Attenborough and Radcliffe on Trent. This year will see a change in the format of the Cope Cup.
Ten teams will be competing in this season's competition in two leagues of five. Each team will play each other once in their respective leagues and after the completion of all four league matches, the two teams finishing top of each group will then contest the final of the Cope Cup. Second placed teams will play in the final of the Singleton Trophy, third placed the Pykett Plate Final and fourth placed teams will contest the Henson Shield final. Unfortunately, the draw was not kind and Calverton have been drawn in the 'group of death'! The two home games will be against Papplewick and Radcliffe On Trent and the two away games will be at Gedling Colliery and Whatton. The other group consists of Caythorpe, Bingham, Flintham, Lowdham and Hoveringham. This years charities are My Sight Nottingham ( http://www.mysightnotts.org.uk/ ) and the Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance ( http://www.ambucopter.org.uk/ ). Please make an effort to support these two worthwhile causes when playing or spectating at his years matches. Group games will be played in May and June with the finals in July.
