The 1st XI entertained Ellerslie at GLA on a wicket akin to the M1, whilst the 2nds travelled to Knipton to play Belvoir on a wicket akin to Woods Lane!
For the first time this season the 1st XI posted a reasonable score thanks mainly to a splendid century from Ryan Evans. But if truth was told, the rest of the batting left a little to be desired. Too many batsman tossed their wickets away with poor shots and only a fine eighth wicket partnership of 68 between Ryan & Rich Lee saw the total go over 200 for the first time this season. In the 50th over Calverton were bowled out for 236 - a par score? - maybe, but the wicket was oh so flat.
The bowlers strived hard to take wickets but Ellerslie showed how to bat collectively as most of their batsman contributed to the match winning total. A couple of wickets apiece for Nathan & Ryan, but Ellerslie eased home with 5 wickets remaining and three and a half overs to spare.

The 2nds arrived at Knipton and couldn't find the wicket! A few painted lines later and there it was.
Belvoir had first use of the damp, dodgy track and mustered just 113 off 33 overs. Dickon led the way with 4 wickets and Michael Nester took 3. Calverton's reply (sic) was a paltry 67 all out from 31 overs. The scores reflect the game - nuff said!
