At least the weekend ended on a high note with the Sunday XI being crowned Champions.
The short trip to Oxton was rewarded with a thumping victory by 7 wickets with 10 overs remaining. On a 'sporty' wicket the hosts had no answer to Calvo's 'hostile' bowling, lead by Kyle Welch with 4-3 off 8 overs. Oxton eventually crawled to 129-9 from 40 overs.
The target proved no problem at all as Brinsley Kirkham recorded his third consecutive half century on a Sunday, steering the team to victory. With Rich Lee, Matt Dean & Billy Bennett all getting into the 20's, the champagne corks started popping with 10 overs left.
Well done to all those involved and special mention to Captain Daz on leading the Sunday XI to back to back promotions.
