The 2nds had a cracking game at home to Eastwood on a belting track.
Although losing the toss, Calvo had first use of the facilities and soon the scoreboard rattled along. The Openers put on almost 50 in quick time before Waggy perished. The Chairman remained until his foot finally gave way in the 50's.
Although both James Toogood & Jake Lowe threatened (both out in their 20's), the remainder of the batting was poor to say the least. Had it not been for a last wicket partnership of 40 between Skipper Matt Lowe & debutant Sam Waghorn, the total would have looked pretty paltry. As it was, 166-9 gave us something to bowl at although the feeling was 250 was a par score.
It seemed Eastwood were going to cruise to victory, but Dickon Perry (4-52) and John Nester - 'The Bowler' with 3-30 had other ideas. With Jake Lowe claiming 2 further wickets, Eastwood were down to their last pair with 17 runs still needed, unfortunately the 10th wicket proved elusive as Eastwood sneaked home.
