Tuesday evening saw us welcome our friends and local rivals Caythorpe to GLA for the final of the Singleton Trophy.
Captain Daz won the toss and Calvo had first hit on Nester's road in a game reduced to 16 overs per side due to overhead conditions. The scoreboard rattled around at a steady eight or so runs per over for the entire innings as we posted a very competitive 142-3 with the skipper leading the way with 54, Ryan Evans 29 and Scotty 28no.
The Caythorpe reply got off to a stuttering start as Billy A (1-14) and Kyle (2-21) took early wickets, Brinsley (3-20), Ryan (2-23) and Deano (2-6) continued to chip away until the innings subsided to 93 all out.
A fine team performance unfortunately marred by a hand injury to Billy Armstrong but fingers crossed he's ok for Saturday's home game against Kimberley.
MOM: Captain Daz.
