The 1st's travelled to Nuncargate to take on Kirkby Portland and upon arrival the question was, 'where's the wicket'?!
As the covers were removed it became apparent that the strip was a tad under prepared! Once again the toss was of huge importance and, once again, Ryan called correctly and had no hesitation in having a bowl. 5-3 became 10-5 as batting was somewhat problematic for the hosts. The seam bowlers were queuing up to have a bowl and cash in on the favourable conditions (for bowling anyway). Portland sneaked past 60 which caused little problem. Scott Andrew continued his rich vein of form scoring a valuable 38 as we romped home to a 7 wicket victory.
Next week sees the visit of second placed Clifton for a top of the table tussle and, who knows, hopefully after a week of good weather, a decent wicket to play on.
