A bright but blustery day greeted the two sides as Captain Daz lost the toss again (5 out of 6) and we were invited to bat first. The score board rattled around to 50 in the fifth over as Deano and Daz set about a wayward opening attack. Deano was caught behind for 23 bringing peg leg Eddie Lee to the crease and he dined out on one leg and raced to 40 before being caught, Waggy departed soon after but Will Peat joined the skipper and maximum batted points were achieved with almost twenty overs still to play. Daz departed for 86 but Scotty (58*), Billy and Will with a very well made 34 ensured that a very competitive 293-6 was posted.
Wollaton's innings never got going thanks to some accurate bowling from Kyle and Billy upfront, Daz and Deano with 3 and 2 wickets each respectively ensured that the innings closed with a whimper on 180-7, the highlight of which being a comically juggled catch on the boundary by Kyle which he eventually hung on to.
17 points gained and the momentum builds as we welcome Wollaton on Saturday for the reverse fixture.
MOM: Captain Daz 86 and 3-23.
