Matt Lowe's tenure as Second XI Skipper got off to a difficult start.
On Friday evening he had anywhere between 8 & 10 players available as the evening went on.
But by 1.30pm on Saturday 11 men had been mustered to take to GLA to play East Bridgford.
On winning the toss, Matt asked the visitors to bat on a fabulous wicket.
The openers put on a 100 and a score approaching 300 looked on the cards.
Somehow the scoring rate was checked and after 45 overs East Bridgford had reached 249-4.
Following a sumptuous tea, Calverton's reply never really got going.
The Chairman hobbled around the crease, top scoring with 34 and apart from Captain Lowe (24*), none of the batsman reached 20 as Calverton got half way to the target required.
Things will improve when more players are available.
