Eventually a 28 overs a side contest began with the visitors (Lenton & Willoughby) opting to bat first. Steady but not spectacular would describe the innings, with nobody really taking on the bowlers and none of the bowlers really getting the better of the batsmen. A total of 147-7 from 28 overs was 'steady'.
In reply at 64-2 off 14 overs, Calvo were in the box seat, but a couple of wickets fell quickly and panic set in (again)! From there on in only Jake Lowe (38) and Graham Waghorn (36) unduly bothered the scorers. At 127-6 with 4 overs to go it should have been plain sailing, but once Wag & Jake fell the batting folded like a deck of cards. 138 all out with 4 balls remaining was a rather sorry end.
Six points gained but it's victories that are so desperately needed now.
